Do your checks before jumping in.
My cistern arm broke so to get the toilet working again quickly I purchased this replacement item using next day delivery which I was grateful for.NOTE: On arrival I found that this item only takes a square shaft. Mine was hexagonal. As I couldn't find a hexagonal fitting anywhere I removed the whole toilet handle (not just the broken cistern arm) and fitted a cheap one from Screwfix that has a square shaft.This was collected instantly as the wife will be expecting it fixed when she comes home. She could not live without a toilet handle!Reviews for the screwfix item warn that it is 20.7mm and will not fit a 17mm cistern hole (the hole the toilet handle fits into). Luckily the one in my old toilet with it's lovely scallop shell pattern is 1 inch = 25mm.I'll just keep this item (cistern arm) as a spare.

Too long but OK ater cutting a bit off.
I bought this to repair my parents very old ideal standard toilet. It was too long and wouldn't fit properly, but I just had to cut a little bit off the end and it was ok. It certainly worked a lot better than the temporary fix I made with an old wire coat hanger!
