The guys who wrote the book literally on the FODMAP diet

The guys that wrote the book literally on the FODMAP diet/lifestyle. A must to have. For anyone who has digestive issues, fear of food is real. It’s been hard to navigate the what can I eat. This book helps. There’s also an app that goes along w the book. That has been a life saver too.

a Fabulous Resource

This book is full of delicious and easy to follow recipes to help you follow a low FODMAP diet. I recommend it to anyone with IBS symptoms.

Best book for learning about the FODMAP issues and how to deal with it.

This is the best book on FODMAP. I bought them all and this is the only one I use. The rest are just taken from this in bits and reprinted under different titles and authors and a waste. Monash University discovered this problem and it the authority. This book is the best and indispensable.

Good Low FODMAP Recipes

Lots of recipes to help guide you through this restrictive diet, however I found myself constantly struggling when it came to dinner, mainly because the diet says to stay away from sauces and marinades. This book has recipes to make your own, but some of the ingredients (even in other recipes in the book) are on the no-go list, which confused me. I ended up avoiding those entirely just until I get though the elimination period of the diet. As a result l, dinners were a bland affair for me.

Foodie FODMAP

This is the best of the low-FODMAP cookbooks that I have used. It raises the low-FODMAP diet to the level of an art, not just a medical necessity. Some of the recipes are really gourmet creations, not surprising given that it originates in Melbourne, a major foodie haven. Yes, it's true as others have pointed out that not all the ingredients are easily found in the average grocery store and require a side trip to an Asian grocery or on-line shopping, but the results are worth it. I like the variety of ethnic cuisines represented as well as the nutritional information for each dish. My only complaint is that I would like to see more information included on how to plan meals for the 'challenge' or 'reintroduction' phase of the diet.

Survival Manual if you use "suffer" in describing food.

I look to Monash University as an authority on Low Fodmap. I struggled as to if I wanted to order yet another cookbook, but happy that I did. I have the Monash app and the book just takes a step-up re: fodmap stacking, getting started, nutritional advice and gets me out of the rut of eating the same things out of fear. I love the recipes and the inspiring-colored pictures of the completed dishes, which are marked with nutrient symbols. The recipes are simple to prepare and healthy. I will say that some of the ingredients suggested, I omitted out of preference. for example: Thai Crispy Fish has palm sugar as an ingredient, which I didn't feel it needed. I also really liked: in the back of the book: the simplicity of a safe recipe for chicken/beef stock, dressings, taco seasoning and Lactose-Free Greek Yogurt. I would highly recommend.

I wish

Just started fodmap and I got this for XMAS because they're the experts! I tried a few recipes and by the end of the week was in tears. I don't have time to make 2 hour meals every day. Even meal prep on a Sunday for the week wasn't possible. I still keep it for reference and maybe I'll try it again but this feels more like an advanced level Fodmap resource than beginner. I hate leaving bad reviews and if you love cooking and have the time I say go for it! Lots of very helpful information and resources inside. Just not suitable for my lifestyle.

I'm So Glad I Ordered This Book!

I had been on the low FODMAP diet for about 4 weeks, following it to the letter. It's a challenging diet as it's not, "eat only this," or, "don't eat that." There is much more nuance to this way of eating. I had questions and this book answered them beautifully. Like how many servings of veggies are too much? How can I combine proteins, grains, fruits, and vegetables effectively to maintain a healthy balance of nutrients while keeping pain at bay? Nicely illustrated with some tasty looking recipes I'm looking forward to trying out. I'm looking at you Miso Glazed Eggplant, Beef Burgundy, and Nasi Gareng.
