Worthless piece of junk. Do not buy
Absolute piece of junk. I bought this to use during a holiday abroad. The jio app is terrible. The tag doesn't connect with the jio app but it connects with the Google find device app albeit temporarily. Once the tag is outside bluetooth range the app forgets the tag and you need to manually add it again. When it is connected it mostly shows incorrect location. What's the point of a tag if it needs to constantly be within bluetooth range of your phone? I was apprehensive about going in for any jio product or service based on my earlier experiences with Reliance/Jio but decided to give them a second chance. Doesn't seem like anything has changed whatsoever, they're still selling rebranded cheap China products and without proper supporting software or infrastructure. Waste of money.

I’m very impressed with the JioTag Air for iOS. It pairs effortlessly with my iPhone and provides accurate location tracking globally. The sleek blue design looks great and is easy to carry around. Battery life is excellent, and the performance has been reliable so far. A great product for anyone looking for a smart, affordable tracker

Affordable and Reliable
The JioTag Air is a compact and affordable Bluetooth tracker that seamlessly integrates with Apple's Find My network. Priced at ₹1,499, it offers a loud 120 dB sound to help locate items and boasts a long battery life of up to 12 months. Its sleek design and reliable performance make it a valuable accessory for keeping track of essentials. However, Android users may experience limited functionality due to the smaller JioThings community.

Smart & Simple Tracker for iPhone Users
JioTag Air works well with iOS, especially for the price. Setup with the JioThings app is quick, and it tracks keys, bags, or wallets easily. The ring alert is loud enough, and location updates are fairly accurate. Not as advanced as AirTag, but perfect for budget-conscious iPhone users.

Extremely high battery consumption – not practical for regular use
I purchased the Jio Tag on 1st May 2025. It came with two batteries, which seemed fine initially. However, just over a month later, I received a low battery warning, and the device went offline soon after. This means the battery barely lasted 6 weeks! At this rate, I’d need around 8 batteries a year just to keep the device functioning. That’s highly impractical and defeats the purpose of a reliable tracker. While the concept is good, the battery life is a major letdown. Jio seriously needs to address this issue in future models.Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re okay with frequently replacing batteries.

Finally a tracker compatible with Google's find my device network - and it's good!
I had been using a Samsung Tag 2 for about a year now. It's good, but has limitations - particularly being tied to Samsung devices for tracking as well as updating the location. The Jio tracker Go launched as India's first android tracker compatible with Google's find my device network. I used it extensively for last 24 hrs, and I am quite happy with it, and thinking I'll replace it as my tracker for usecase where I otherwise used the Samsung tag 2.The tracker can be added either from Find my device app or Jio Things. As I am not a fan of Jio's ecosystem and apps, I set it up from Google find my device app.Despite Google's default setting being update location only in high network traffic areas - i saw the tracker's location refresh quite frequently, like every 10-15 mins at night and every 5 mins in day. I live in a big city, so this may vary in smaller towns.Additionally, ability to share the tracker is a big plus. I can now share with any android user and not restricted to within Samsung ecosystem anymore. The device itself is of decent build quantity - not as premium as Samsung tracker, but cheaper, thinner and lighter. The Jio tracker isn't water proof either, so you have to be cautious about that.Overall, it's a value for money and a big step towards smart trackers scene in India.P.S since no cases are available, I used an air tag case and cut it out in the middle to allow stretching it to fit the Jio Tag Go in it.Update: I observed that location history is not available in Google Find My app. It only shows the last updated location, unlike Samsung tag which shows a history of all locations where the tag was detected. Also, I noticed people complain about nearby iphone and android devices being notified if the tag has been near them a long time. This is intentional - even a rouge airtag near you will be notified by an iPhone or an android phone. This is to prevent tags being used to stalk people. It's not a shortcoming of jiotag in particular or android tags in general, but an intentional security feature added by Google and Apple. If you are interested, you can read more about how Google's find my device network rollout was delayed while they waited for apple to build enhancement to identify and report rouge android tags.
