Chirp support IS WORKING!
I'm not sure if it was added in a recent Chirp update or something, but I just programmed this radio successfully using Baofeng K6 as the model in Chirp. The NA-K61 is based on the K6, so it stands to reason they are similar hardware, etc. I just copied over all of my normal channels (without having to do it one at a time manually in CPS), and will be testing it out over the coming week to ensure stability, etc. This makes me pretty happy as despite the fact that I LOVE how this radio feels, I found I used it less as programming in memories 1 line at a time is a pain, so I never programmed in my complete channel list, etc. Solid radio for the price, and much better than UV-5R, especially the HT's mic quality.

Great for the money
For the low price, this is a great radio! Baofeng has a programming software on the website, however it isn't identified as K61 but it works. The software requires each frequency to be entered one by one, it does work however. It puts out 7.5 watts on 2 meters, and 5 watts on 70cm and 4 watts on 1.75 meters, but the SWR is 2.2:1 on 1.75 meters with the supplied long antenna, with an antenna made for 1.75 meters it puts out 7 watts and 8 watts on 2 meters. The included long antenna 771 in not a triband antenna. It's a great radio for the money.

Battery overheats to the point of almost catching fire
Battery overheats to the point where you can't touch the underside of it that connects to the radio. Very dangerous. I am returning the radio. Baofeng will not help because the radio was purchased off from Amazon.

This is a very nice radio for the price
This is a great radio for the price, it comes with two antennas and they provide amazing coverage. All in all, it's a great beginner HAM radio, the only downside is the fact that it's not CHIRP compatible, however I hear that it can still be programmed using the Baofeng software.
