Great Value
Great value, Easy installation. National brands will quote same awning (installed) for 2 to 3 times the price available here.

Heavy but high quality.
Bought this more expensive model because it has a stronger frame, it's motorized, has dual steel cables, tilt adjustable and comes fully assembled. This unit is heavy (around 60lbs) and you should consider 2 people for the placement of it. This is a high quality unit which works well with the remote control. It comes with a crank handle for manual operation and the same crank works for the tilt adjustment. This unit needs a solid mounting. I found the bracket bolts that came with it did not work well and kept spinning when cranked down (as if it were stripped) so I went and bought bigger 5/8 x4.5in wedge anchors for my concrete wall to use instead. One problem was the stronger anchors use a threaded shaft and nuts to secure them. When the nuts were cranked down, the threaded shaft extended past the nut about 1/2". If you have anything larger than a nut, it hits the frame and you won't be able to push it in far enough to secure the frame. I used a grinder to cut off the bolt shaft which worked fine after that. One other small detail is the bolts they provide to secure the frame into the wall brackets are not easy to get the nuts on while holding the frame in place. There is no room for your hand to hold the nut in place so be patient. I used a luggage tie strap to hold the unit in place so I could safely take my time with the secure bolt and nut. Overall, the quality is good, it works perfect. The remote is easy to understand and use. Once you set the tilt, you are good to go. It works perfect to shade our hot tub and holds up good in light winds. I have yet to see how it handles rain or heavier winds but thats the beauty of the remote control. I would but it again.

Best bang for your buck and DIY in Electric Retractable Awnings.
Let start with our likes. Bob Villa (This Old House) recommends a lot of products, he hasn't let us down yet-this awning was on his list. It is well made, comes with all the installation parts-which doesn't require much. Is aesthetically pleasing, providing shade space, and a tilt down option, great for people who are yard workers, or just want to enjoy being outside. Delivery came by air /freight faster than expected, and was doubled boxed. The color of the awning was misleading, suppose to be gray w/yellow stripe. Actual color gray w/yellow-orange. Our back screen door- cedar w/burnt orange stain, which works. The remote control is also a bonus. We would deifinitely recommend this product.

Wow!!! QUALITY & SERVICE!!
I dont ever leave reviews but this product and company have really made a positive impression and I just have to share my experience.I will begin by informing that I was hesitant to buy such an expensive product from an online service but after getting quotes from my local awning companies, I just couldnt afford not to look into Advaning a little more.I did reach out to them directly and spoke to several of their service personnel - to my surprise they all were quite informative, very accommodating, and beyond helpful with all my silly questions. I was reassured that any problem I should encounter would be properly handled by simply calling them again - and was also informed that their awnings have a 5 year warranty. After about 3 weeks of thinking about it I finally pulled the plug and made my purchase, I was surprised to see how well packaged and quick my awning arrived. Oh by the way - this is a very LARGE box, and they do ask that you sign for it which was the only inconvenience since I had to leave early from work to be there.Ok - Installation was so much simpler that I expected and my husband and I did it in less than 2 hours - I must admit most of the time was spent reading and measuring. You can really tell that they invested in quality materials with this product, its very sturdy and works amazingly - WE LOVE IT!Anyway, if your thinking about getting an awning go with this company - you'll be glad you did and we saved close to $2000 by going this route.

Relief from the brutal sun!
We have an extended patio and lots of sun in the backyard, so we decided a retractable awning was the way to go. I came THIS CLOSE to buying a heavily advertised brand, but then I did some research online and found that not only was Advaning more highly rated but its price was lower. Winner! Then the only decision was their Luxury line or Classic series … and frankly, the colors of the Classic series suited me better. We went with the 13’ motorized shade in Canvas Umber. Its metal bracket / casing is gray, and the brown/gray combo looks great on the house. The 13’ shade went up easily – granted, we have two strong home improvement-oriented men in the family and they got it up by drilling directly into our stucco/concrete patio headers to position the brackets. Once the brackets were up, the awning slid right into place. Plugged it in and voila! Fast, quiet, instant shade. Love the stylish remote control which we have mounted on the wall using their included bracket. We loved it so much we decided to purchase a second one, this time 16’ long, and placed it right next to the first one, so every foot of our extended patio is now covered. The Owner’s Manual provided easy step by step instructions. The awning itself is heavy, so be prepared to have two or three people to lift it up and slide it into position. I have included some photos of the installation and finished project.

Remote control built very cheaply doesn’t work
The awning seems to be good easy installation but the remote control for the awning is very poorly made. The battery is loose in the remote and the only way it works is if you squeeze hard on the battery compartment and then push remote buttons.**UPDATE**. Advanning was very helpful in sending me a new remote. Had issues syncing it to the awning. They sent a third remote, no luck. They sent out a new awning out which then worked fine. All took awhile, I notice that multiple awning companies use this same remote , which I still think is poorly made. But I must admit advaning went the extra mile to help solve the problem.
